Main challenges
Challenge A
Clearly translating the book’s concepts into an easy-to-use tool
Challenge B
Applying the book’s principles to identify ideal stocks
Challenge C
Personalizing the tool for each user
First, understand the problem

User research

At the beginning, I want to learn more about what users consider when want a clear financial tool. For example, what is necessary for users when they open the tools, and how do they search a stock? We have send out the survey and get around 25 feedback.

Pain point A
Users want quick, clear guidance on whether to buy a stock.
Pain point B
They need a personal watchlist to save their selected stocks.
Pain point C
They require a screener with filters to search for stocks effectively.
Map journey and opportunities

Journey mapping

According to the user research, the first priority is to guide the users. Therefore, adding a navigation bar to organize the tool is essential. Additionally, the app should include personal functions and user accounts to save their preferences, as well as recommending some stocks.

Test ideas with wireframe & prototypes

Wireframes

After completing the journey mapping, we created more than 10 pages of wireframes. These wireframes focused on details such as the size of the navigation bar and the placement of the analyze stock. We also ran two rounds of wire-framing with insight group.

Features

Testing

After finishing the first version, I asked some prospective customers to test the prototype. Through their testing, we were able to identify some blind spots that needed improvement.

Learning

After a few rounds of testing, we have identified some features that need improvement. For example, user is confuse about the analysis box. Also, users do not understand which axis reflect with which data.

Room for improvement

Improvement

We realized our UX personas needed more clarity, so we conducted usability sessions with our customers. Through this, we identified several key characteristics for our personas and are now developing a new design tailored to these insights.
