Projected outcome

Once the website is designed, it is for educational purposes where people who want to learn more can simply access it and click on whatever they want to know. Also, it encourages people to learn more about history.

Main challenges
Challenge A
What medium should be used to present the information?
Challenge B
How can we differentiate the migration of different populations in the same time?
Challenge C
How should we present hundreds of years of history in one website?
First, understand the problem

User research

To start, we would like to learn more about what users consider when using our website. Therefore, we have prepared some questions to ask prospective users, such as: What media form would be most attractive in conveying the information to you? What information were you seeking when you visited our website?

Point A
Having videos to explain everything that happened would make it much easier to understand.
Point B
It would be more interesting to see the migration of different populations across the entire US map..
Point C
Having a comment box to allow people to share their family's history would be a great addition.
Map journey and opportunities

Journey mapping

Based on our user research, we have determined that presenting history on a full US map is the most effective way to engage users. By providing an interactive map, users will have the opportunity to understand history in a dynamic way. Furthermore, users can delve into specific historical events by simply clicking on the relevant location on the map.
